Mallee Park Angora Goat Breed Type
Mallee Park Angoras are of the South African bloodlines that were imported using embryo transfer. Mallee Park strives to breed large framed animals with correct structure, fibre purity and excellent length.

Breed Description
Angora goats are white and have a single-coated fleece which is called mohair. Mohair is the primary product from running Angora goats although surplus stock are sold into the growing Australian goat meat trade. Mohair grows at the rate of about 2.5cm per month and as textile mills require fibre around 15cm long, Angoras are shorn twice per year. Fleece weights for mature Angoras vary from 2.5 to 4 kg, making the annual production about 5 to 8 kg per animal.

12 year old Jacey Ferguson is Stud Manager of Mallee Park Angora Goats and enjoys taking the prized animals to the Berwick Show and Bendigo Sheep & Wool Show. Enquiries can be made directly to Jacey on 0427 811 046.
